How To Fix Crashes

If you want to report a crash, but don't want to include your HW2.log, you can answer our one question stability poll for the current version, stickied in our Astral Queen Support Board.

1. Installer crashes can be worked around by installing the big file by hand
2. Install the 1.1 Homeworld patch.
3. Delete your profile.
4. Turn off background applications.
5. Turn off background services.
6. Turn down your graphic options.
7. Turn down your audio options.
8. Try to load other levels. Esp. the BlankMap under Tutorials.
9. Install the source version of the mod (rar or zip file).
10. Defrag your harddrive. - SecureRom
11. Clean your HW2 CD. - SecureRom
12. Try another CD/DVD drive. - SecureRom
13. For campaign and scenarios: launch a mission directly by adding the following to your shortcut:
    1. For campaign: -campaign tutorial -startinglevel XX
